OneDock is a Chrome extension designed specifically for browser tab management, adopting a local-first design philosophy, committed to providing you with an efficient and secure tab management experience.
Important Notice: We only read necessary tab information to provide functionality and do not collect or upload your personal data. All data is primarily stored on your local device, and you have complete control over your data.
2. Information We Read
2.1 Tab Information
To provide tab management functionality, we only read the following information (we do not collect or upload):
- Tab titles and URLs (for grouping and display)
- Tab access times (for history records)
- Tab grouping information (for intelligent management)
- Tab screenshots (only for local preview functionality)
2.2 Browser Permissions Usage
OneDock requires the following browser permissions, and we clearly state their purposes:
- tabs: Read tab information for grouping management, without collecting specific content
- activeTab: Get current active tab status for real-time updates
- windows: Manage multi-window tabs for cross-window switching
- history: Read access history to provide history record functionality
- tabCapture: Generate tab screenshots, only for local preview
- identity: Google account login, only for cloud synchronization authentication
2.3 Account Information (Optional)
If you choose to use cloud synchronization, we only collect:
- Google account information (only for authentication, without accessing other information)
- User synchronization preferences (such as whether to enable synchronization)
- We do not collect any tab content or browsing history
3. How We Use Information
The information we read is used only for the following purposes:
- Providing tab management functionality (grouping, switching, preview)
- Implementing smart grouping and quick switching
- Supporting multi-window tab coordination
- Providing history records and recovery functionality
- Implementing cloud data synchronization (only when actively enabled by users)
- Improving product functionality and user experience
We will not use your information for any commercial purposes, conduct data analysis, or share your information with any third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage (Primary Method)
OneDock adopts a local-first storage strategy, with all data stored only on your local browser:
- Tab information in IndexedDB database (local access only)
- User settings and preferences in LocalStorage
- Browser extension local cache data
- Important Note: Once you uninstall the extension or clear browser data, all local data will be permanently lost
4.2 Cloud Storage (Optional, User-Activated)
If you actively choose to enable cloud synchronization, you must set a security password:
- All cloud data is encrypted with your password, making it impossible for our servers to decrypt
- Data is stored in Supabase cloud database, but content is completely encrypted
- Users can choose to erase cloud data at any time, and we cannot recover it
- Due to data encryption, we cannot track or analyze user access behavior
4.3 Security Measures
We take the following measures to protect your data security:
- Local data is completely isolated, and we cannot access it
- Cloud data is end-to-end encrypted, and servers cannot decrypt it
- Implementing the principle of least privilege, only reading necessary information
- Users can delete all data at any time, including cloud backups
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We commit not to share your data with any third parties, including:
- We will not sell, rent, or share data with any third parties
- We will not provide user data to government agencies
- We will not cooperate with advertisers or data analytics companies
- We will not use data for any commercial purposes
Important Note: Since we cannot access your local data and cloud data is completely encrypted, we are actually unable to share your personal information with any third parties.
6. Your Rights
As a OneDock user, you have the following rights:
- Complete Control: All your data is local and completely under your control
- Right to Delete: Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all local data
- Cloud Data Control: You can erase cloud backup data at any time
- Privacy Protection: We cannot access your local data
- Transparency: Clear understanding of what information we read and its purpose
- Choice: You can choose whether to enable cloud synchronization
Since we cannot access your data, you actually have more complete data control than traditional services.
7. Data Retention
Regarding data retention:
- Local data: Completely under your control, permanently lost when extension is uninstalled
- Cloud data: User-initiated encrypted backup, can be erased at any time
- We cannot access or control the retention period of any user data
- Users have complete data control
Since we cannot access your data, there is no situation where we actively delete or retain data.
8. Children's Privacy
OneDock is not specifically targeted at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
9. International Data Transfer
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or other countries with data protection laws, please note that your information may be transferred to other countries for processing. We will ensure these transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and take appropriate protective measures.
10. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
