v1.2.2 — Stay light with many tabs, unified look
OneDock v1.2.2 builds on v1.2.1 with a new focus: keep the browser light when tabs pile up and unify the interface—auto memory release, Window Monitor, a redesigned extension popup, and a shared atmospheric surface across key pages.
New
- Auto memory release: idle tabs or those outside your “recent keep” quota are discarded (Chrome tab discard); tabs stay in the bar and OneDock list—click back to reload; the active tab in each window is never touched; “idle for” and “recent keep” rules can be toggled and tuned separately
- Refresh all pages: after install or update, refresh every non-discarded tab from the popup or User Guide so already-open pages pick up OneDock again (save unsaved work first)
- Atmospheric surface: new tab page, User Guide, popup, and Dock panel share the same soft gradient + paper-grain look, including dark mode
- Popup redesign: window/tab count snapshot; open or close the Drawer without leaving the page (with shortcut hints); clearer value story and tips
Improvements
- Window Monitor: when you run multiple windows, icons in the Open tabs header filter by window, show hover previews, switch windows, and close all tabs in a window from the badge (writes to Action Recovery Center)
- Pinned tabs in the list: pins move from a capsule strip to full rows at the top of Open tabs, with the same row actions as unpinned tabs and drag-to-reorder
- Always-expanded Open tabs: no expand/collapse toggle; the header shows discard count and links to settings; discarded tabs get a dashed icon ring
- Resizable list height: default 240px, drag the edge to adjust (saved locally); Minimap now covers pinned + unpinned rows
- Richer row context menu: close, duplicate tab, activate and move to current window, close duplicate batch, plus pin/unpin and close below
- Cleaner settings/profile/cloud sync copy and layout; feedback dialog adds Chrome Web Store rating and developer contact; “More” menu adds User Guide
- Stronger background storage and messaging for MV3 service worker wakeups; Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English copy updated together
Keyboard shortcuts
- Toggle panel: Option+Q on macOS, Alt+W on Windows/Linux (confirm in Chrome “Extension shortcuts”)
- The extension popup can open or close the Drawer without switching tabs
- If shortcuts conflict, the User Guide links to Chrome’s shortcut settings
Upgrade notes
- Version bump from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2
- Auto memory release is on by default (1 hour idle, keep 12 most recent); turn off the master switch or either sub-rule anytime
- Discarding frees memory—it does not close tabs and does not write to Action Recovery Center
- After upgrade, Open tabs stays expanded; list height is saved locally (default 240px if unset)
- Refresh all pages reloads every non-discarded tab—save forms and documents first
- Chrome fully supported; other Chromium browsers expected to work; Windows, macOS, and Linux
v1.2.1 — Find faster, close with less fear
OneDock v1.2.1 builds on v1.2.0 for crowded tab bars: a Running virtual group, close-later flags, a stronger Open tabs list (Minimap, pin strip, hover filter), plus a redesigned user guide and new tab page.
New
- Running virtual group: leftmost Dock view of sites that are actually running; drag to reorder (local only); not included in cloud-backed group lists
- Close-later: flag tabs to keep before bulk cleanup; pinned and close-later tabs are skipped by quick close and similar batch actions (single-tab close still works)
- Open tabs upgrades: vertical Minimap; pinned capsule strip; hover/click site icons to highlight or lock a filter; one-click duplicate cleanup
- User guide redesign: opens on first install; screenshots + demo GIFs; try the shortcut keycaps in-page; Option vs Alt by platform
- Global search: recent search keywords you can pick when the field is focused
- New tab page: centered global search + recent/frequent site grids; “Remove this site” (irreversible—impact listed before confirm)
- WebApp visit stats: OneDock visits (cloud-syncable) and history visits (local); recompute suggested app name from the current title
- Dock zoom: scale the Dock panel between 100% and 150%
Improvements & fixes
- Site detail popover: shared open/close behavior across Dock and new tab shortcuts
- Tab screenshot preview: capture only while the drawer is visible; smarter cache; permission based on site access
- Quick close & recovery: batch closes skip pin/close-later; clearer recovery source labels; fewer duplicate recovery writes
- More reliable favorites/site matching; Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English copy updated together
- Fixes for stale screenshot data, invalid tab errors, and preview flicker
Keyboard shortcuts
- Toggle panel: Option+Q on macOS, Alt+W on Windows/Linux (confirm in Chrome “Extension shortcuts”)
- Switch groups: Option/Alt + ←/→ (Running is included in the cycle)
- If shortcuts conflict, the user guide links to Chrome’s shortcut settings
Upgrade notes
- Version bump from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1
- Running, pin order, and close-later flags stay on-device—not part of cloud-backed group data
- “Remove this site” clears related OneDock data and browsing history for that site—use carefully
- Auto screenshots need site access permission; other features still work without live preview
- Chrome fully supported; other Chromium browsers expected to work; Windows, macOS, and Linux
v1.2.0 — More control when tabs and windows pile up
OneDock v1.2.0 improves how it feels when you run many tabs across many windows: an Action Recovery Center, a Recently Visited list, global search that includes WebApps and recently closed items, stronger window preview, and a cleaner Drawer-first toolbar with a “More” menu for less common actions.
New
- User Guide: a dedicated walkthrough page; opens once after first install and can be reopened from the All Tabs header; shortcut hints follow macOS vs Windows/Linux (Option vs Alt) and match the extension defaults
- Action Recovery Center: review and restore recent closes (tabs, batches, window closes, and more); search, delete one, or clear all; keeps up to 100 recent actions locally
- Recently Visited: sorted by last activation, with window color and a flame hint for activity; close one tab or “close this and below”; resizable list height is remembered
- Global search: adds WebApps and Recently Closed; tabbed results with a compact overview plus “view more”; search focuses automatically when you open the Drawer
- WebApp nicknames: shorter display names with unified edit/validation across Dock, details, groups, and search (about 6 CJK characters or ~10 Latin characters)
- Window preview: card layout with active-tab screenshot, title, tab count, and color; switch windows, expand to pick a tab, close a window (recoverable via the recovery center)
- Toolbar “More”: houses All Tabs, Favorites, History, Preview All Windows, and Send Feedback so daily actions stay compact
- Drawer-first experience: fewer legacy display modes, clearer mental model
Improvements
- Dock + Drawer: Drawer-first layout with top/bottom placement fixes; more consistent WebApp naming and status badges
- Quick close: clearer previews and no stale preview when nothing can be closed; more close paths write recovery records
- Screenshot preview: clearer permission prompts and empty states; better messaging for pages that cannot be captured
- i18n + settings: refreshed copy in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English; more consistent panels; platform-aligned shortcut hints
- Stability: fixes for invalid tab ids, recently visited ordering, duplicate recovery entries for native vs OneDock closes; removes legacy Dock V1 code paths
Keyboard shortcuts
- Defaults: Alt+W on Windows/Linux and Option+Q on macOS to toggle the Dock (see Chrome “Extension shortcuts” for what is actually registered—you can change it there)
- If shortcuts conflict, the User Guide links you to Chrome’s shortcut settings
Compatibility
- Chrome: fully supported
- Other Chromium browsers: expected to work
- Windows, macOS, and Linux
